My mixed media work, primarily using oils, encaustic, gouache, graphite, and cold wax, draws deep inspiration from the natural world. I find that painting en plein air allows me to truly capture the essence of my subjects, which I then translate into larger, and sometimes serial, studio works. 

My alla prima landscapes are characterized by their dramatic expression, achieved through the use of broad strokes and unconventional color palettes. I approach my subjects with a focus on capturing the visual stimulation of the natural world and conveying the unique story that resides within each piece. Through elements such as value, movement, composition, space, and color, I aim to share the beauty of my vision and forge a connection with viewers.
